An animal trainer in the USA narrowly avoided horrific injuries after she was dragged into an alligator enclosure while she attempting to feed the reptile in front of a group of children, with a bystander jumping in the water and coming to her rescue. Lindsay Bull, who has been a trainer at Scales and Tails Salt Lake City for 4 years, was in the process of a feeding ‘Darth Gator’ (great name) as a form of entertainment for a group of children visiting the reptile park for a birthday celebrations when the alligator suddenly became aggressive. In terrifying footage, Bull appears to get her hand caught in the alligator’s mouth, before jumping into the enclosure and being thrown and rolled around multiple times. It’s at this point that Donnie Wiseman, a visitor of the park, jumps into the enclosure and onto the back of the gator in an attempt to overpower and subdue the reptile allowing Bull to escape and be released from it’s tight grip. Darth Gator eventually releases Bull, with Wiseman remaining on the back of the agitated alligator for almost a minute before he is able to quickly jump out of the enclosure and out of harms way. Speaking to KSL, Lindsay said “I can’t tell you exactly what happened, but [Darth Gator] snatched my hand and really bit down.” Speaking about Wiseman’s heroics, the trainer said she communicated with him right before he jumped into the water, instructing him by saying “If you can get on his back, go on his back.” “What happened was an accident,” Bull said. “I’m so much more to blame than Darth Gator.” Incredible the trainer escaped with relatively minor injuries all things considered, sustaining injuries to her tendon and bone chip of her hand but is expected to make a full recovery.
