An electrician who fell off a Wind electric scooter in Clifton is attempting to claim up to £1,000 in damages from the company, after the crash partially destroyed his £800 CP jacket and £150 Nike trainers. Liam Adams, 30, claims a tyre on the scooter was defective and completely bald which led to him being flung over the handlebars and damaging his clothes - suffering a minor injury to his arm and elbow as well. In photos shared to Nottingham Post, a large tear on the back of his CP jacket - which he purchased for £800 - is visible with some of the interior stuffing becoming exposed. The qualified electrician has so far been unsuccessful in contacting the company to make an insurance claim and is frustrated at the lack of communication and transparency from Wind. He says he's "fuming" about what happened Speaking to Nottingham Post the sparky said: "I'm fuming about what happened. I could feel the back wheel bobbling a little bit, and when I pressed the brake, I couldn't stop because I was sliding and then it sent me straight over the handlebars.” "If the scooter did not have a defect, then I wouldn't have come off - it's as simple as that.” "I'm not too bothered about my arm - I just want refunding for my jacket and trainers.” Mr Adams was also wearing a pair of Nike AirMax’s that he purchased for £150. In a statement released from Wind, the company said "We are currently looking into this case and have been in touch with the customer on this.” The damaged CP Jacket.
