Building works on a new Co-op in Aberdeen have been completed at a cost of £2 million. The store is said to include a bakery and car parking for 20 vehicles with two electric car charging points, cycle spaces and two disabled spaces. The 6,000 sq ft store features a reclaimed granite façade and sustainable roofing materials to minimise heat loss. Burns Construction was appointed as the main contractor, while CAG Architects was the main designer on the project. Property and Construction Consultants Henry Riley was the project management firm selected to oversee the development. The project is in line with the Scottish Government’s 20-minute neighbourhoods’ ambition. Iftikar Mian, director of West Coast Estates, said: “This site has always had huge potential and we have worked with our partners and stakeholders to explore a range of development opportunities.”
