Speaking on The Carpentry Show, Sam Thomas, a self-employed carpenter with decades of experience, said for him, there are plenty of reasons why it’s great to be a carpenter. He said: “For me, now, I, I love the fact that sort of every week is different. Every job is different. I'm a big people person, so I love meeting different people every week and going into people's houses and just learning about different people and you're still even now like 30 years old, I'm still making different trades all the time. Obviously, I like creating stuff and working for people and you know, performing like well and making people happy with the jobs that you're performing for them. But I think overall for me, it's the people and it's the flexibility of having a little bit of choice where you can work and we don't have to work if you don't want to.” Sam’s top six reasons why it’s great to be a carpenter: As to his biggest nightmares on the job, Sam’s got a pretty great story to tell about a time when a plumber got him in hot water …literally.
