Builders’ merchant Jewson has launched Project Estimator, an estimating service to help builders and tradespeople save time in the planning stages of their projects, win more work and save money on materials. Previously branded as Build Aviator, the revised Project Estimator service enables customers to share the floor plans, section drawings, elevations and specification for their project and receive a comprehensive set of reports. Compiled by a UK-based team of ex-trade estimators, the reports include a detailed breakdown of all materials, plant and labour required to complete the project, alongside a condensed, customisable version, which can be personalised with their branding and shared with their clients to help win the work. Once plans are submitted to Project Estimator, reports are turned around in less than five working days and feature accurate, live material costs from Jewson to provide builders and tradespeople with the most up-to-date prices and help them make savings. Reports can be adapted to include personalised labour rates and mark up margins. Andrew Ellis, managing director, Project Estimator, said: “Project Estimator is designed to support those who might usually spend hours producing quotes for potential customers, which inevitably takes up valuable time and money that could instead be spent doing the building work itself. “Put simply, it’s a more effective way to plan and quote for new business. Users of the service can interact directly with our estimating experts, who truly understand the needs of modern builders and tradespeople, and access all the insight and information required to secure their next project.” Andrew added that the new Project Estimator brand is an opportunity to demonstrate the steps Jewson is taking to better understand the needs of busy builders and tradespeople. “At Jewson, we’re proud to partner the trades, so over the last 12 months we’ve been analysing what it is about our estimating service that builders and tradespeople want to seek out and engage with the most,” said Andrew.
