Clive Holland was banging the drum to raise awareness around men’s health issues this week on The Clive Holland Show. On Wednesday’s show, he was joined in studio by Dr Jeff Scott, a GP specialising in men’s health issues to discuss heart disease, testosterone deficiencies and getting a regular health check-up. “Men’s health is a big area, and for years it has been shoved to the back,” said Dr Foster, while on the show. “We still die before women, we still have a higher stroke risk, cancer risk, suicide rates – all of these sorts of things are higher in men because while we are good at telling people what they should do, but we are not very good at doing it ourselves,” he added. Dr Foster encouraged listeners to be proactive and invest in a regular health check, every two years that will cover all the risk areas, such as heart disease, testosterone deficiencies, prostate and testicular cancer and even mental health. “I would say once every couple of years, fork-out couple of hundred quid to get a decent health check with somebody that looks at men’s health,” he said. Clive Holland was also joined on the show by Bill Hill, CEO of construction charity, Lighthouse Club. To listen to the full show click below.
