Danny Madden invited three guests to join him and discuss their observations concerning the current standard of work on the roofs across the UK. With over 130,000 YouTube subscribers, John Cooper highlights shocking standards in new builds. "We've seen some horrors over the years, but recently we came across a roof with missing brick ties, which caused the gable end to fall. It crushed a shed and a car." John believes the reason standards are so low is due to a "lack of knowledge and education". Robin is frustrated with how work is being carried out in the UK. "It's getting worse and worse." He argues that standards are dropping due to people building on an unrealistic budget. Oliver from Just Scaffolding reveals that he's seen some "horrendous" roof jobs. "Once we saw soffit boards [not fitted properly], we knocked on the customer's door, told them how bad it was and offered to keep the scaffold free of charge after recommending a decent roofer," he says.
