Danny Madden, from North London has won Fix Radio’s Roofer of the Year. His nomination, which showcased his expertise with velveteen and classic roof structures helped him to clinch the roofer gong. The Roofer of the Year category, sponsored by Cupa Pizarras, saw a high-level of quality nominations from across the country. Bill Westcott was named highly commended in the same category for his portfolio of heritage work. The Fix Radio Tradesperson of the Year Awards, which was held on day two of UK Construction Week in London, brought together shortlisted nominees from this year’s award at a brief ceremony. In total Fix Radio gave away ten awards covering the key building trades. “This year’s shortlisted nominees showcased the best of the UK’s trades – the winners have displayed an excellent portfolio of work that proves that UK tradespeople are the best in the world,” said Greg Wilson, head of content for Fix Radio. “Congratulations to Danny – and all the shortlisted nominees in this category,” he added.
