The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) has worked with TunnelSkills, the National Specialist Training Group for the UK tunnelling sector, and the Chimney Occupations sector to review and introduce new National Occupational Standards that underpin the National and Scottish Vocational Qualifications (N/SVQs). With the renewed focus on rebuilding Britain, the role of sectors supporting the wider construction industry in ensuring the best training and qualification routes has never been more crucial. These pathways are instrumental in enabling career development and progression, underscoring the significance of your work. CITB’s partnership approach with the tunnelling and chimney sectors helped identify the need for additional training support for skills development and advancement from a safety perspective. As a result, CITB focused on updating the training solutions for these areas, including developing a new Level 3 qualification as a progression route for training from the L2 qualification for the chimney occupations sector. CITB is proud to support GQA Qualifications as the awarding organisation offering the new Level 2 and Level 3 chimney qualifications.
