AUDIO NEWS: Tool thieves raid construction charity van again and bricklaying students smash their exam!

Posted: Wednesday, December 4th, 2024

Tool thieves have broken into a Band of Builders work van for the second time this a year.

The clearly marked charity vehicle was raided while parked at Peterborough train station directly under CCTV cameras and a short distance from a British Transport Police office.

Gavin Crane, head of Band of Builders said: “Our van is more than just a vehicle — it’s a tool that enables us to deliver hope to those who need it most. To see it targeted at a location with a police presence is shocking and unacceptable.”

Crane challenged the government to act on tool theft, calling on it to introduce tougher penalties on thieves, create a national taskforce to address the issue and start a fund to help victims.
