Tom Hardy has offered to pay the wages of an entire set building crew on Guy Ritchie’s latest TV series, after the construction firm went bust. The employer of about 50 freelance builders Helix 3D said it was “unlikely to pay staff this side of Christmas” after it went into liquidation. Paramount Studio is now thought to be stepping in to pay around £250,000 of outstanding wages to the builders, but only after Hardy offered to cover the builder’s salaries. The wages were related to building work for Ritchie’s next big budget gangster series, the Fixer. --- Small house builders are unlikely to increase their market share unless the UK housing market is reformed, claims the Federation of Master Builders (FMB). Currently, small builders account for just 10% of the UK’s new builds, with the market dominated by volume housebuilders.
