AUDIO NEWS: Maintenance professionals struggle to stay compliant and plumber nicks ex-girlfriend's toilet

Over two thirds of maintenance professionals say that ‘staying compliant’ is their biggest problem – that’s according to a survey by SFG20.  

Alarmingly, 100% of those surveyed said they were unsure how prepared they were to comply with the Building Safety Act and its ‘golden thread’ requirements.

Golden thread regulations call for a digital record to be kept of all critical building information from the design phase and throughout a building’s lifespan.

Paul Bullard, product director at SFG20 said: "Understanding your statutory responsibilities as a facility manager and consequences of non-compliance is imperative.”

Former Gogglebox personality and electrician George Gilbey died from traumatic head and torso injuries after falling from height at work, an inquest has heard. 

40-year-old Gilbey had been working on a warehouse roof when he fell through a plastic skylight to the ground below. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

In March, a man was arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter in connection with the incident.

A plumber stole his girlfriend’s toilet after their breakup.

According to a post on Reddit, the woman dumped her boyfriend because he didn’t pay his way and refused to tip service staff – both traits she didn’t admire in a long-term partner.

When he was packing up his stuff, and moving out, he also took her toilet.
