Plans by the Mayor of London Saddiq Khan to remove the congestion charge exemption from electric vans has sparked major anger. This week over 40 organisations, including the AA, Open Reach and the Federation of Small Businesses signed an open letter to the mayor urging a rethink. Currently operators of electric vans in the capital pay a £10 fee, which renders them exempt from the congestion charge. The exemption is due to be removed on Christmas Day 2025. --- Nearly 60% of homeowners would rather improve their property, than move to a new one – that’s according to a survey by Haon Garden Rooms. In the poll of 1,000 homeowners, those aged between 16 and 24 were the most likely to want to improve their existing property, rather than move, due to the high cost of new homes. Over half of respondents said they didn’t want to move because they “loved their current location. --- Installer is ramping up its efforts to recruit youngsters into the trades at next year’s show.
