Whether you're a novice or a seasoned pro looking to upgrade your arsenal, today's Carpentry Show is enlightening. Robin Clevett shares practical tool hacks and maintenance advice and discusses emerging power tool trends. He is also joined by Dan Giles, Jason Joyce, and Kevin Page, who share their views on their favourite power tools. When buying tools for the first time, Dan suggests sticking with one brand because it offers a battery platform on which to build. "It's better to stick to one battery brand and expand from there." Mature carpenters, may opt for manufacturers that specialise in specific areas of the trade. "One of my favourite tools is the extractor I recently got from Festool. Another would be the KSC chop saw. Using them together and linking them with Bluetooth is a really game-changer," he notes. Kevin's favourite tools include a Martinez hammer and a Dorma back rig system. Builder Jason looks for quality when it comes to tools. "I like a good tool pouch with a good belt that is structurally sound and doesn't keep falling apart. It must carry everything I need and be good for my back." Listen to the podcast here.
