How long is your waiting list?!

Chance Lichfield in for Clive Holland, host of The Clive Holland Show this week, turned attention to a recent survey that has found the average wait for a tradesperson in the UK at the moment is five weeks – as the shortage of trades in the UK continues to grow. So, Chance wanted to know, what is your wait list like and how do you manage the planning of it? He was joined by great friends of the show Ryan from RWC Plastering and Steve Gray for their thoughts. Gray said: “Currently for any replacements because I am a heating engineer it is six to eight weeks for any boiler replacements. It’s been like this for a while now. It’s a challenge and am not complaining but trying to juggle different customer complaints is a stress.” A caller Freddie Gregory, said: “As for your point. I'm already backlogged due to the crap weather! I couldn't take on another job this year.” Another Mark from Corby Homes said: “Currently, am not booking any work in until new year (2025).” Matt the builder, said: “I can squeeze in small jobs but nothing else major And another from S McLean Décor added: “Great show! I’ve only just reopened my diary and it’s already booking into July/August with more enquiries coming in daily. Luckily my wife manages my diary I couldn’t cope with the amount of messages she has to answer.” For the full show, listen here
